CAMESA was founded in 1957 and began manufacturing wire rope in Mexico City in 1958. Two years later, we were producing our own high quality carbon steel wire.
In 1970, development started on a project to produce the electromechanical (EM) cables used by the oil field wire line service industry. In 1975 Camesa opened a plant exclusively to manufacture EM cables using the latest extrusion and armoring machinery. CAMESA has developed several new manufacturing techniques including multi-stage preforming and continuous hot pre-tensioning. These new techniques contribute to the overall uniformity and quality of our cables. CAMESA is continuously developing cables for new applications. Our engineers are actively involved in developing new and improved products and manufacturing techniques for the next generation of EM cables. Current projects range from fiber-optic to semi-conductive coaxial cables and solid-core multi-conductor cables. CAMESA has a rigorous quality control system covering incoming raw materials and products to assure cables free of defects and excellent in performance. Wire Rope Corporation of America, Inc. (WRCA) acquired CAMESA in 2005 to form the largest wire rope company in the western hemisphere. Since that time we have added to the capacity of our production facility. CAMESA is committed to the best possible service and stocks commonly used cables at several locations worldwide. For any cables not in stock, we can quickly respond to your oil field cable requirements. |
